Please Help. Might be buying a 2003 G35 Tomorrow

Looked at and test drove a black 2003 G35 today...automatic with 70k miles.....I can get it for $13,000.....drove great and was in very good condition...

Was also a female owner who has always taken it to the dealership for everything including oil changes and she has records for it all.......has a clean car fax etc....

what do u think good deal? should I get a 2003?

Has new tires....one thing I did ask was about gas...she said she has always only put regular in....I know it says premium which I would use myself if tats not gonna be a problem..

any other tips or really any other info would be outstanding....possibly buying tomorrow around noon.

Thanks!

2005-2007 has an updated interior.
2006-2007 has a few updated exterior details (headlights, tail lights, front bumper, and spoiler if you got one)

I don't know what effect regular fuel had on the engine, I never put below 91 octane in mine.

$13k is a decent price for a 2003 Automatic.

Keep in mind that your geographic location and the history of the car also play a role in determining the selling price of used cars, ie two cars with the same equipment and mileage would have a different price in two different states, like Southern California and Iowa. Do not get discouraged; what may not seem like a good deal to another member may actually be decent or even a good deal in the area you live in.

To answer some of your questions, I split my driving 60% highway and 40% city, and I average 18-20 mpg. There is nothing wrong with getting a 2003. Yes, it may not have an updated interior/exterior bits, but would a car that does fit your budget? You stated you have a solid budget, and found a car with documented service records and a clean CarFax (though I'd be wary of this, check over the body panels for respray by yourself). It even has new tires. Sounds like you inspected it thoroughly and you really like the car, and the owner appears to be honest inside and out (she could have not said anything about using a lower grade of gasoline).

IMO you should pull the trigger, maybe even try to get the seller to budge a bit on the price. For your record, I got my '03 5AT for $16.4k incl. tax, has premium package, NAV, brand new tires and fixed OEM CD changer unit. Pricey, yes, but cars in California aren't cheap and a red G35 is difficult to come across.

Typical problems to look for in an '03: door lock actuators failing, clicking rear driveshaft, window motors acting irregularly, jammed CD changer.

Yea...I cant go above 14k.....I will look it over and probably give it one more test drive before I buy....it did have a 6 disc cd changer....bose....NO nav....I think she said infinitis premium upgraded wheels....i think they are 18" might be 19 not sure.....

it did have a little road noise from like 0-20 MPH....but went away any faster....could be tires?

Id be ok with 25 highway.....

Ok....so I just came across a 2004 G35 that is silver....looks to be in great condition and only has 64k miles....they are asking $13,900.....I am ok with silver or black both look very good....this has less miles and I would bet money I could get them down to $13,000....I would be stupid to not go for one that is a year newer and has less miles????? of course I need to go test drive it and get the carfax.

Maybe 18s, no 19s in 03, but could have Brembo brakes (the calipers will be a gold colour). Road noise is almost certainly tires.
