ha ur funny g_thirtyfive and king of jerico ur ego's are writing checks your body can't cash....hehe. dont know if it was an E55 i think not but I can be wrong...all im saying is when I had my bmw I would walk all over E430 and CLK430(year 1999 to 2003)like they were nothing, and my father owned one two..he was amazed at the performance of the bmw. I mean the dude stood with me all the way but could not pass me thats for sure. well ill just try for another race on the E and CLK classes they shall not prevail on the G.

I have been on the track in a G35C 6MT vs a BMW 330ci...... there is no way a 330ci is faster than a G35C. From a roll, a stock G35C MT will beat a stock MT 330ci.

From a roll, often a V8 will walk a V6 when you least expect it. For example, an E500 will probably walk a G35C despite its weight.

Hey,

Don't be disappointed. You never know what people have done. There are a lot of people who buy AMG models and de-badge them specifically for picking on un-suspecting drivers.

If your 330 felt faster than your coupe there is something seriously wrong with your coupe. I used to pick on 330's with my Altima 3.5SE 5-speed. But only when there was no one around. On the streets they were pretty close, but past 100 km or 60 mph the Altima would walk the 330i's.

Maybe you need a TSB applied. My previous Altima definitely felt faster than my 330i M does especially down low in the rev range where it had noticeably more torque.

you can't really go by what it FEELS like. A lot of what we "feel" also has to do with sound. My truck has a lot of torque and it "feels" almost as fast as the G, but it's a full 2 seconds slower in the 1/4. That's like a dozen car lengths or so. If we were racing from a light, the G would destroy the truck. Unless you forget to turn off the VDC, then it might be a close race - I hate the feel of that thing when it cuts the engine power. I need some ketsup on my steering wheel so at least it tastes good when I slam my face into it.

The 330 has like 60 less hp than the G, it can't be faster than the G. But a E36 M3 on the other hand is whole different animal. I felt more torque in the M3 than our 6MT. When the new 3 series come out, they will still be the benchmark again, with 255 out of a 3.0, they won't be any slower than a 295hp G35.

Hmm.. not many 500E's on the road anymore... or at least not where I live... Most likely an E55? ... My friend's E55 AMG pwns me like a lion pwning a house cat.

 

LOL I totally agree. The only 330 that can compete with a G is the ci with the sports package, from the stats I've seen and what I heard from bimmer drivers, don't really know from experience though.
