Hi guys,

i did search but i couldn't find any info regarding this particular issue.

My 5AT manual mode does not work for the couple of of months back and forth.
basically when i shift from D to manual mode the screen still shows D and manual mode doesnt work. couple of days later it comes back, but last week when finally manual mode worked 5 minutes later when i was in 3rd gear it automatically went back to D,

what could be the reason for this? the D mode works fine no complaints. Thank you guys again for your help!

 

I would guess that it is a switch or switches in the Tiptronic. All shifts and functions are electronic. That means the shifting is done by signals sent to the transmission control module. There a switch that changes from auto to Tiptronic mode. you should be able to check the wiring by removing the center console cover. Maybe the switch is going bad or there are lose connections.
