Well Im pretty sure my clutch is on its way out. My question is depending on what needs to be replaced what would be covered under warranty? My car is an 07 with 36,xxx on it. I am hopefully getting it looked at next week, thanks guys.

I dont think a clutch would be covered under warranty... i may be wrong though... although losing the stock clutch at 36K is pretty early - i have 68K on mine and it is just now starting to go and the last 8K have been with FI so just on a stock engine i bet i could've got close to 80-85K

I think the clutch is covered under the powertrain warranty.

Well Im not positive but I did a test the other day. Put the car in third and let the clutch out slowly while giving it some gas and it absolutely stunk afterwards. TannerG, thanks hopefully it is if it does go.

So you "tested" your clutch by purposely slipping the clutch?
What was that supposed to do other than creating that great burnt clutch smell?

Check your warantee paperwork, but I dont think that the clutch is covered under the warantee.

Hop on the freeway and get up to speed in 6th. Cruize at a steady speed (say 60) then step on the gas and watch the RPM gauge. If the RPM climb and the speed doesnt increase as much then your clutch is slipping.
Think of it like burning out, the tires are spinning but the car isnt accelerating as fast as the tires are moving..

Clutch discs doesn't seem to be covered...

This warranty does not cover normal maintenance services as specified in your Owner’s Manual such as wheel alignment, headlight aiming, replacement
of filters, replacement of key fob batteries, lubricants, coolant, worn clutch discs and brake pads.

I have a G35 2007 with 45K miles . I to feel my clutch is wearing out, my maintenance will expire in June.

I had it checked by Cerritos Infinity couple of days ago because of Rattle Noise and Clicking Sound when I depress the clutch. I sometimes get some grindage when shifting before redline. They said it should be ready at the end of day, so they gave me a sedan g37.

After getting it checked out by the mechanic , he said it was normal wear and tear for a car with my years and mileage.

In all, I was pissed , they gave me my car back with my engine cover not even put on right with missing screws.

Normal wear and Tear Huh !!! ***ers .

I was thinking of taking it two a couple of spots where they do free tranny checks , then taking it back to justify the mechanical issue.

why do you doubt the dealership, all they want is your money, you clutch could have 50% left and they would tell you that you need a new one... and then over charge you for it...
