Not looking too good. My dealer called me. Infiniti has released info and parts for adding XM sat radio ONLY to cars pre-wired at the factory. The XM sat kit for the coupe is part # B8046CR011 and you also need a wire cover (??) part # B8242AM8000.
For most of us that have non-prewired cars, I did ask about purchasing the wire that the factory installs seperately. My dealer said he has no part # for that nor can he find one. He stongly believes that the wire is part of the main wiring harness and would be near impossible to install, let alone be cost prohibitive.

Anyone have close contacts w/ your Infiniti dealer? If so please inquire about the wire harness fron radio to trunk (where kit goes) and getting it sepreately.


IMHO, NOW it is time to approach Infiniti legally and get this resolved

Maybe it's just me but don't you guys think that if we are paying full MSRP for these cars that we should have no out of pocket expenses if we wanted to add the XM Sat option. I mean it says on the features for the car that it is XM capable, right? Ideas?

There has been much discussion regarding this issue on Fresh Alloy, but this is how it stands:
All vehicles that were manufactured starting in March are prewired and will accept either Sirius or XM kits that will be available starting at the end of April.

Geesh...My car was built in March. Where the hell do I stand??? How do I know if my car is pre-wired or not?

I fed the your part numbers for confirmation and a request for the wire harness part number to a dealer yesterday.

I am looking at buying a G made in February so I am also very interested their response.

 

your car is prewired if you have the "sat" button on your console

G35C 6 MT

My sedan has a SAT button on the console, and it was delivered back in December, well before they started pre-wiring cars.

They are selling the XM/Sirius kits with a wiring harness. I am not sure if this is the harness missing from the pre-march 03 cars, but sure sounds like it.

This may be the answer we have been looking for.

Although this is for the FX35/45, it might work with the G35/C.

My G35C does not arrive until June, so i will be right to go. Just wanted to share a glimmer of hope for all those who want Sat radio but can't get it.

FWIW, my dealer just got back with me today and told me she not not find any evidence of these part numbers in the Infiniti system.

It's becoming painfully clear to me that 3rd party is the only way this car is gonna have XM.. please prove me wrong Infiniti!

 

This set up works great for me. I love my Sirius. Put it on the back of the Nav Door. ( I don't have nav.) Used double sided tape. The kind used for body side molding.

The FX harness is NOT the same as the G35 unit. Dan at Grubbs Infiniti is trying to get the final answers for us.
