Flywheel/tranny noise is gone!

I was thinking why some people are not experiencing these clicking/chatter noise shifting to 2nd so I went out and tried many combinations..The best way to eliminate this noise is actually step on the clutch a little sooner than I should and shift normally, it totally eliminated the noise..what I was doing is stepping on the clutch when the gas pedal is is already all the way up which make the noise and the best part is that shifting to second now is more linear and no jerk..I think someone post about this problem before but I cant remember who and I was about to bring my car to the dealer to have it check out LOL..

Re: Flywheel/tranny noise is gone!

haha....yeah i am amazed that i can feel SO MUCH from the shifter, i like it that way though, that way i can tell if it was a good shift or not.
I havent had any clicking noises yet (only 200 miles on her)
but my 1-2 shift sometimes vibrates the stick like a ****
thanks for the info, i too have had a couple shifts like that

Hey, did the drive-by-wire throttle **** you off when you first drove it, lets say the first 25 miles???

Man i must have stalled 4 or 5 times, during rush hour though on a 2 lane road. Now i am getting the hang of it,

no blipping of the throttle allowed!

Hey retret, does yours lag as bad as mine? or does it go away after break-in??????

the lag actually is not noticeable after 1000 miles, now the rpm drops as soon as I let go of the gas and when I blip the gas its instant..I would say that the response is a lot better when I first have the car, the tranny really need a lot of mileage to break in..I stalled it like 20 times, twice leaving from the dealer and the rest is going in to my garage..

Re: Flywheel/tranny noise is gone!

rambo the way your talking about your drive by wire lag makes it seem really extreme. I can feather and bleep it just fine with out any problems. Maybe what lag there was is just non existant due to compensation i did subconsiously. I had a friend of mine who drives a charger, test drive mine to see if he noticed anything. He didnt notice a thing.

Im going to blame your lag on "G Paranoia" I think everyone that is a true enthusiast of this car suffers from it.

Either way dont giveup on trying to feather the throttle youll get the touch down. Might just take some adjusting from what your used too.

Re: Flywheel/tranny noise is gone!

i'm telling you man, the lag was extreme. I'm used to driving a 5spd Z3 and so is my older brother. The car jerked quite a bit as he was going into first gear and and he noticed the extreme lag also.
Today he drove his Z3 again and told me "This is just so much easier to drive!"
So i told him that it will go away after break-in, he still likes my car though
