ok, i waited to long. i just tried to order winter tires and wheels from tirerack. they are out of the dunlop wintersport m3 tires for the front size. from what i could gather these were the best selection for our car. any advise? what luck have you had with other tires?

I went with Dunlop winter sport M3 tires also....
I did four (4) 225X55X17

I researched this set up, and another member has the same size set up, which was recommended by the dealership he purchased his car from....

He said he had no problems with the VDC/ABS etc.......
it is within 3% of original size in front, and the rears are almost exact size as the 245/45 pilot sports.....

I have not installed them yet, but plan to in the next couple of weeks.....I was going to send back the fronts for 225/50/17's but decided to keep this set up for rotation purposes....time will tell, but I feel assured I did the right thing....

Tire has to be taller in the rear for the ABS and VDC to work properly. The stock tires are an inch differ in diameter as well. I would be cautious using the same size all around
