So after months of searching for a g35 coupe under 9k I finally got a decent one. 2005 g35c with 122k miles on it. Owned my grandpa's, car is completely stock. So my question is what things should I look out for with these high miles.

@122k is nothing if you know how it was cared for. Not to say that you don't have homework to do @checking the car out. Oil consumption, compression rod, some bushings, interior electrical/window motor. I know there are more but you get the idea. I'd read more from previous/past/current owner threads about the problems they have/had. That's what I did personally before buying my G.

Always do the basics for any used car you purchase:

Oil level - Keep on checking the level for every 500 ~ 1000 miles to see if your car has the "Oil Consumption Issue" as it's a common issue for the rev up engines (MT only) and high mileage g35. You can get more info throughout g35driver forums.

Transmission oil - Make sure its redish. If its dark brown, it definitely needs a flush.

Eletricals - very easy to check. Just make sure all the buttons work lol. Check the windows, this is a very common issue for the g35.

Air filter - Obviously a dirty air filter = hurting your engine. Make sure you switch that out.

Carbon build up - needs more work on this one.. you actually need to take out your air intake to check this one out. Many guys to this... Many guys dont... So its your choice. You might wanna look into this one since your car has 122k miles. Try seafoam. I havent done it yet but I heard lots of good things about this product.

Radiator Fluid - Make sure its not brown. If it is... You need a flush.

Alignment - Check if the alignment is good.

Thats all I can think of right now! Maybe other buddies can give you more info. I just know the basics before purchasing a car and after purchasing the car. Its always good to have a mechanic friend around you as they can always give you good tips OR better... they can do the check ups for you!

LOL sorry to disappoint you!! I bought my car with 36k miles lol. My friend (mechanic) checked everything for me. He said it needs "nothing" lol. But obviously I will have to keep on checking the oil level.

Yeah this is my second VQ (had a 3.5se altima before this). I check the oil after every hard drive to see if its going down. I bought it from honda, so they put full synthetic honda oil and it seems to be okay after 500 miles. And of course I have the known window motor issue. It still works but sometimes the window doesnt come up on the first try
