I don't like it. Good thing you used plasti dip so you can just pull it off if you want. Hard to pull of that look without additional mods to pull it all together. I'm thinking Gialla grill painted similarly (color match outside, gloss black inside). I dunno...

Because it looks like crap, don't post a thread asking for opinions if you only want to hear how great it is. The great thing about a forum like ours is that you get the truth and great opinions on how to make your car looks better so take it or leave.

What I get a kick out of is all you guys saying it looks "great" and "awesome"....

You guys blind in one eye? Come one! The finish looks like sh't, the edges arent crisp, and both sides arent even symmetrical.

If youre gonna waste your time, atleast take your time and do a good job.

Guess its just the artist/designer in me. I stand back about a hundred times whenever Im doing anything creative.

What he did stands out like a sore thumb to me. My eyes are directly drawn to the the bad lines.

G2FLIP4 is a bit of a paintophile. Plasti-dip makes him angry. Good point he makes though, you have to work very hard to make rattle can spray close to presentable.

You will get some strong opinions... especially when it comes to using plasti-dip. Any attempt to pass plasti-dip for paint is generally frowned upon as it is nigh impossible to get it smooth enough to pass for anything more than a poor paint job.

My feeling is that it can be used effectively to accomplish a look, and to protect. However, I think it's best left matte. The slightly textured appearance can give you a nice contrast, but will never look like a respectable paint job.

Using several light even coats from about 8" or so to keep it as smooth as possible, you can do emblems, grille, rear 'diffuser,' bumper inlets (if that's you thing), even your headlight bezels, and pull it all together. The thing is, if you don't do a super clean job, it will look ghetto. Even if you do a really good job, if will never look as smooth as paint (prove me wrong). Of course, you can't peel paint off either. It's a fine line.
