Is this the default behavior on this car? I don't have an owners manual. Two things that happen that I'm not sure they are supposed to be happening:

1.) When A/C is not on, and I press the mode button a much of times it changes where the air gets blown. As soon as I get to the foot area/defrost icon on the display, the next time I press the mode button it sets the A/C on.

2.) If I have the heat up, I live in Canada, and I try to set it from 'pull air from outside' to 'recirculate inside air' it automatically goes to A/C. Its like -30 here and takes forever to warm up. I just want it to heat the air inside and keep circulating that as apposed to pulling in cold air to heat. As soon at the a/C light comes on, I press the A/C button to turn it off and it jumps back to the 'pull air from outside' setting.

Yes, that is default behavior.... One of the many fun quirks of the G35!

What year is your car?

1. our cars AC doesn't have a "recirculate" function like most cars do.

2. same as #1

I believe this applies to 03-06 cars and 07 coupes.

Its an 03. I do have a "recirculate" button, but it only seems to come on with the A/C selected.

It's normal... my '05 does the same thing when I hit the recirculate button as well.

my '03 is the same way aswell and it does bug me at times. Someone told me to go ahead and let the A/C button light up, and the compressor will only engage if youv'e selected a lower temp w/ your climate selector. I thought I heard the compressor cut in even with the temp at 85 so I just got used to having no recirculate option with heat.
