If I got courtesy notice saying I need to appear in court on monday but I sent a letter in by mail with a post date of saturday, should I still go to court on monday morning because the letter won't get there monday. Thanks

i dont know where you from, but here in jersey...the judge sends out an order for your arrest if he calls your name and youre not there,.

 

I'm sure it varies. In Cali they issue a bench warrant. So they don't actively search you out, but if you happen to get a ticket or go into court for something else, they will get you.

I would proactively try and get the issue resolved. A judge is usually reasonable about most things(need a payment plan, extensions, etc) but they hate no shows. At least this is my observation when watching people who go up in front of judges with outstanding failure to appears on their record.

 

i think the easiest and best answer is "just go to court."
