Question Advice for possible '05 6mt purchase

Hello to all (first post)

I am currently in Afghanistan, but will be coming home in about 2 1/2 weeks. I have had my eye on an athens blue beauty from a private seller for a good while now. I cant wait to get behind the wheel of my dream car.

However, the oil burning issue worries me, especially considering that warranty time on 05's is pretty much over. When I go to check out the car before I buy, what are some checks I can make to spot if the car burns oil? Spark plugs? Exhaust? The last thing I want to do is drop 18k on a very low mileage, fully loaded sex machine, only to find out the b**ch drinks oil

Any more problem areas to check? I just want to make there are no suprises in the near future.

Thx guys

Well powertrain warranty is 6 years/70k miles so it shouldn't be over yet unless the car passed 70k miles.

18K will go a long way for an 05 model. Pretty sure you can find one with same or a few more miles pick and choose. Good chance you can find one where someone purchased the extended warranty which covers the oil consumption once you get dealer and NESA to honor the warranty. With that said purchase a vehicle with maintenance records since this is first thing Nissan of America ask for. Maintenance records are also available from local Infinti/Nissan dealer; of course only work performed thru them so if owner performs own maintenance you will need proof of materials purchase exc... You can take vehicle to dealer and pay for inspection also see if vehicle is available for extended warranty. car fax and auto check gives an ideal but not everything every time...GL patience is key.

So it's possible to purchase an extended warranty? that would be great

I think the one I'm looking at buying is probably the best deal around.
Fully loaded, athens blue/beige, 33K and all schelduled maintenance from Riverside Infiniti w/ records.. gawd i want this car

It may be gone by the time I get back from the sand anyway though.. if so I will try to find one with an ext warranty--hopefully i will never need it

I like it bro very nice car it's just that I'm coming from a 335i and I miss the TQ of that thing I really want to do something to my engine to get some power out of her. I'm thinking of Vortech SC maybe if I have enough funds.
