G35 hands down. My girlfriend and I got our cars a year apart and she bought a 08 Altima Coupe 2.5sl fully loaded without navi/rear camera for 18k with 19k miles. I bought my 04 G35 Coupe a year before her and i paid 18.5k with 35k miles fully loaded with navi. Yes, my car is significantly older, but it doesn't feel like it at all. Two totally different cars. RWD 300hp motor vs FWD 200hp motor. She does have intelligent key and bluetooth, but her car feels like a toy. Her car looks like crap compared to mine also, but I don't tell her that. The look of the G35 coupes don't seem to get outdated.

OP, this is not a question that someone else should be answering for you. The two cars share very little in common. If sounds like you don't even know what you really want out of a vehicle.

The best suggestion you can get from anyone right now is that you should go test drive each of the vehicles to get a more intimate feeling for each one and what they each have to offer.

I can't see how you would ever pick the Altima or the G, and you'll probably feel the same way after you get into one.

Doesn't the Altima also come with a V6? Not really kosher to compare the 2.5 to the 3.5, right?

Anyway, here is the way I see it:

If you want the car for looks, they both look nice but the G35 is better looking. Not only does it have classic lines, it is also more sporty looking. So the G wins there.

If you want the car for performance then the G still wins. If the Altima comes with a v6 it might be nearly as fast in a straight line, but the G will likely handle better and if the Altima comes anywhere close to 300hp it will have torque steer out the wazoo and likely understeer as well.

And if the Altima only comes with the CVT then that's THE dealbreaker. CVT's might be good for gas mileage, and they might shift smoothly, but trust me, they also suck the life and fun out of a car. I drove one for 5 years. Hated it.

Gasping for air

Gasping for air

Repeat ad nauseum.

I wouldn't trade my 7-year old G with 54,000 miles for a brand new Altima if they offered to do a straight trade.

WTF kinda question is this of course a G but if you can't afford it then maintenance, payments, insurance etc. then get the Altima but to be honest the G handles and sounds like no other to me..

If concerned about gas mileage and getting stuck in the snow, go for the Altima.

If you want a timeless design car with a nice VQ exhaust note which is RWD, go for the G.

Just decide what's more important to you.

This reminds me when I was stopped at a traffic light and an Altima coupe pulled up in front of me... He gunned it when the light turned green and cut me off (I had to hit my brakes he was so close) and at the next light I pulled up next to him and rolled down my windows... He rolled down his and said "that's right, b!tich." I felt like kicking him in the face but instead I just smiled at him and stomped my foot down when the light turned green and all was good.

It was a 2.5, BTW. I don't even think he knew what car mine was (as half the people who comment think it's a Mazda or Acura). G35's aren't the fastest cars out there by all means but... C'mon. They don't look anything like a Mazda or Acura.....
