There comes a time with most every good up and coming company where its quality and product meet or exceed that of the competition before its prices and reputation catch up with the competition. That is THE precise point at which you want to purchase one of their vehicles. I don't know if Hyundai is there yet, but it is close. I suspect in the next year or two the Genesis coupe will be a serious rival for the G if Infiniti doesn't really step up its game. I'd certainly go for a Genesis coupe before I'd buy an Altima coupe. Which means in that market Hyundai has lept over Nissan to compete with Infiniti!

I saw a Genesis coupe the other day with big red Brembos peeking out from behind the wheel spokes. Were those OEM? Not sure.

Well you could buy a fully equipped C-class for that much but I'd rather buy an E-class for $49,400 starting price. Fully loaded Im sure would be around $60k. To me that's a hell of a better option than the Eqqus when it comes to quality, safety and performance

Even though Hyundai has stepped up their game on styling and technology, it'll take me quite some time after seeing how much more reliable they are etc within the next few years and more so to come.

They can't just expect me (personally) to just go "oh wow looks great, I'm going to buy one because it is much more upgraded than their previous models" - it'll take much more than that. But with that said, they are definitely making improvements, just for me it's still way too early to tell if I'll be convinced to get a hyundai, only time can tell on that one. Reliability and safety to me are important, hyundai so far to me has been subpar in the past- maybe that'll change as well.

i remember one of the sales rep in a Infiniti/Nissan dealer was showing me the altima coupe quote " this is more like poor man's g35"

well you are gonna regret all the time if you buy altima coupe ,and when you pull next to a g35 , you are gonna wish you had the same exhaust sound and kick ur head on the dash

No comparison. Front wheel drive Altima "family car" or rear wheel drive G35 "Luxury Sports Coupe"
