How does one make the dashboard glass clean?



its not dirty from the outside, so I guess I'd have to do it from the inside, but how? Any help?

Have you tried windex and a soft rag? I have a dash board cleaner rags the size of baby wipes and that's what i use on the glass part as well.

Believe it or not, Dawn the dish soap mixed in with some windex and water ... does wonders to glass. Microfiber towels only of course.

I've tried all these. It seems that its dirty from the inside... not sure how tho.

Thats odd, I always thought those things were sealed up from the inside :\

might have to take the gauge cluster out. and clean.

trying some can air, with a long flexible hose. lol

Thats weird i actually have the same problem but it is where my clock is and the temperature for the air conditioning and heat. The glass part has little spots everywhere and i cant seem to get them off.

time to take it apart!

i have the same issue! my rearview mirror and the gauge cluster glass/plastic. up close it looks like a bunch of little "U's" everywhere.

Do these have a seal on them? Can always call the dealer and ask them on how to clean them.

Keep in mind that the clear lens over the gauges is not glass - it's polycarbonate. I've seen some where different spray cleaners used to detail the interior will actually etch the polycarbonate and so no matter what you try to clean it with, it can give you the impression that it's dirty on the inside. If you cant tell, try getting some motorcycle helmet faceshield polish from a cycle shop and polish the areas in question. If it's etched from a cleaner this MIGHT help, but YRMV.

Those are probably over spray from your plastic cleaner or shiner.

I use to have that problem with my Honda S2k and I took care of it with a lot of rubbing compound and a lot of elbow grease. Took forever to remove it with the rubbing compound.

Ahh i thought it was something simple.

@ jibber: I'll try that out. Its so annoying at night when you look @ the dash and it sticks out. Especially for someone that has OCD about car being clean lol.

I got the same issue, never found a solution to get rid of it.

I got the same problem with the plastic over my clock/ ac temp. pck823 is probably right, it might be etched from overspray of a cleaner... I use wax on mine and it seems to take care of the problem for a lil while
