Some wishful thinking

So its been a year, and i haven't modded anything yet. I want to do some simple stuff, MREV2 and 5/16 spacer, and maybe the JWT and z-tube...but its not so easy to find good deals. I don't know anybody in the north east who is getting rid of their z-tube, and I don't have enough posts yet to put up a WTB in the marketplace.

Just a general set of specific and difficult to search questions:

Where, besides the marketplace, is a trustworthy place that I can get a good deal on the jwt and z-tube from? I expect I'll need to get the MREV2 and Copper Isothermal spacer kit from Motordyne. Please let me know if there is a cheaper, but still trustworthy way.

I can't find a really good DIY guide for the Copper Isothermal Spacer and MREV2. The Motordyne instructions are not really specific when it comes to the MREV2 and the copper heater, and I am still relatively inexperienced with work in my engine bay. Some detailed pics and instructions would be really helpful, or even just talking to someone who's done it!

Can anyone honestly tell me these mods will not make my car drone? If not, how bad is the droning at 65-75 mph?

Lastly, If I go crazy and want to get some exhuast, clutch, and other stuff done, who can I trust in the Albany area, and would I be better off driving to a nearby place: Boston, NYC, etc for a better price?

I've done some searching, but I just don't know how best to shrink these questions down to a few words here. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check the marketplace. They have some good deals on there and all the vendors are reliable.

Any feedback for B2 Auto Designs in terms of reliability and customer service?

First what year is your car?

Without changing the exhaust you wont get any drone. The spacer and intake will cause your car to growl and give it a deeper tone.

Iso is an easy install takes about 30 mins. Take off intake. 18 bolts in all around the plenum. If you have a g35 haynes manual it will tell you the torque order to make sure its on squarely. Add a little oil to the gasket to help it seal. Call it a day.

One of the best vendors on here, I got the majority of my stuff from Charles and the service is excellent, great prices, fast shipment and good communication.

You haven't done enough searching apparently, but I digress. I'll be nice, skip the lecture, and just give you some advice.

Read Motordynes instructions once through and then just do it. It's easy. Honestly, it's so easy a caveman could do it. Just make sure you get a torque wrench. Otherwise you'll be screwed since you have no experience with engine work. There is also a video guide install of a MD spacer (basically the same install steps as the MREV2) somewhere online, just google it, it's there.

Check CL as well. I got my brand new Mrev2 off there for $350, but I was searching for awhile. Got my Stillen ztube from ebay for $40.

I got my spacer and HFC's off venders here. I found B2auto to give me the best deals although they are relatively small, $5-$10 but shipping was free, so a good $20-$30.

These mods won't change your exhaust so there is no possible way for drone. The only time you get drone is when you change your exhaust components.

Search in your local subforum. They should have a sticky of shops in there for your area.

It's definitely harder to find deals in the private marketplace lately but they do come up. Just keep checking all day, every day.

Guys, thanks for all the help. I called motordyne and Tony directed me to the link to the video, its literally the small pic on the "installation" tab of the website. I clicked it and now I have some good visuals. Tony walked me through most of the install process, so I feel pretty comfortable now. I have a torque wrench, but have done very limited work in the engine bay of a car.

I have an 07 coupe 6MT. The motordyne instructions actually do a great job of explaining the retorque process.

I just found robs intake dyno post, and its definitely made my life easier.

I'm going to stick with the stock filter box and just get a tube to replace the stock.

B2 Auto Designs has been of great help to me. I've ordered from them twice and they have always provided me with top shelf customer service. On top of that, they have amazing prices and will answer every question you may have.

Still researching, I have not installed yet. I will get the parts soon, and maybe take some pics of any steps I find challenging.

I couldn't agree more. B2 is one of the best vendors I have ever dealt with hands down.

It's pretty straight forward. Just removal and re-installment of a few bolts.
As far as B2 nothing but good things to say about my dealings with them.
