Hmm good question but I'm 700 miles from home and don't have access to two jacks.. So I can't figure out that answer currently..

Ive also driven a good 80-100k miles total with evos who have the same brembo brakes/similar rotors. And I've never heard something like that so I don't think it would be the brakes.

Car has 80k miles
Also forgot to mention that the only mods on the car are some different struts. Can't remember what they said. Something like torco?.. Or Starts with T and there's an R in the name
And it's lowered about an inch (I believe springs)

it's most likely the rear axle which are prone to making clicking noises. They need to be re-greased ASAP. If not, you're going to need to replace the entire thing.

Best bet would to take it to a shop to have them determine the problem. We can't do a "internet" diagnostic. As the G has way too many problems and it's hard to single out what is causing what.

Could be the bearings, could be the axle, could be the suspension / bushings. etc etc.

Quit being cheap. $10. LMAO

Take it to the shop and pay your $50-70 /hr diagnostic fee if you really want to get this fixed. They should waive the fee if you decide to let them do the repairs.

haha hey I just bought the car.. so I have to be a little cheap I'm kinda broke at the moment.. ; )
but ya, I belive its the rear axle click, which seems easy enough to fix myself.. The problem is should I drive the 700 miles home before it gets fixed? I have no idea how long the noise has been going on as I bought the car yesterday.

It probably has been going on for a while. It's a 2003 and the owner decided to just dump the car to you instead of fixing all the problems.

You should also check your #6 spark plugs for oil. Have fun...

My axle click didn't sound like that. That does sound brake related but I would have to look at the car in person to give you an answer. GL

O and I completely agree the car wasn't taken care of likable should have been.
I plan on giving it a nice tune-up/ TLC lol

I plan on changing the plugs, doing a Z tube, new filter, and plenum spacer. As well as full fluid flush, and change the tranny/dif fluids.
Also the rotors need turned and going to swap on some new pads, fully details the car in and out, nice buff and prolly some slight exhaust mods
Possibly a tune down the line a nice set of rims and tint.
Any other suggestions?
Maybe a LSD of some sort.

Absolutely not the infamous axle click. That would be a much lighter clicking, your noise is more of a thump, thump, thump.

I would bet it's brake related. Other than that since you've checked the bearing, there aren't many parts that turn with your wheels except for the axles themselves or the rear differential.

It honestly sounds like something is hitting like the rotor, but visual/feeling around doesn't how me anything.
Still could be the wheel bearing as someone stated they can go bad and not cause the wheel to move.
It is very annoying to say the least. The thing is once you're past 40mph or your windows are up you can't hear it.. So I didn't notice it before I bought the car..

Could the "low" brake pad shim possibly be rubbing something?

If you check the video saywhat. It doesn't really sound thumpy. It's definitely metal in nature.
