Yep...my 06 coupe makes clunking noise when breaking or going over speedbumps. The closest thing I can compare it to is the noise u brake on a go kart (not metallic, not screeching, not grinding, just a deaf thud that seems to be coming from the pedal). I searched the forums n the closest thing I came to either:
1) old rotors (they are old - new ones in the mail)
2) Control arms (I hit a huge pothole last month that bent my rim)

Any ideas / similar experiences? Thanks forum

I would definitely check the bushings in your front lower control arms and your compression rods. Especially on the side you bent the wheel. They are notorious for wearing out fairly quickly.

Yeah I'm looking into that right now, thanks

I found a thread on 350z that might help. It's just i don't want my lower control arm to come loose when driving on the freeway :/

Any time you hit anything hard enough to bend a rim it's a good idea to get your G on a rack and check out what other damage you might have incurred. Could be nothing or major damage, but it's a good idea to find out before hitting the freeway!

problem solved!!!! I put the car on jack stands, took off my wheel n turns out that one of my SPC upper control arms came loose. The bolt was so loose in fact that it wasnt even wound up , I literally pulled it out of the frame
Well I re-torqued it down and long and behold , noise gone
