I shift around 6,300-6,600. Launch by pressing the gas and the brake simultaneously. Then release brake as common sense dictates.

Keep that attitude up, and you'll see why we are all saying the things we are. No one is trying to keep you from having fun, but we've all been there and speak from experience. I am 30 and look back and realize how little I really knew about things in life at age 16, or 18, or 21, or even 25. We're not just being the "grumpy old timers". I've done more than my share of stupid **** (and still do on occasion lol), but you will learn in time how to be safe and still have fun.

Im 17 i was given a g35 03 5AT by my dad. I tend to drive alot with the manual. I really need to stop cuz i dont wantto f*** up the tranny. But anyways. I drive fast in a responsible way. I never get passed the speed lmit. But im scared to do so. I know you wanna drive fast but youll enjoy the car more if you drove a little slower. Plus you will stop lesd at the pump lol. Take good care of it. It is much better than my last 96 explorer.

My first car was a 97 explorer and the power locks didn't work and I had to climb in through the tailgate lol

I wasnt speeding, the officer said since our cars have wide rear tires they glide over water. granted i was sportin 255/35/20's and the Z has a much lighter back end, its still nothing to **** with! take peoples advice and dont be hard headed! u will regret it in the end!

not saying that your a bad driver(althought statistically you most likely are) but when your at the track racing your buddies, keep it in AT mode, brake+gas to 2300 RPMS, release the brake and go. the G is smart enough that it knows if your trying to accellerate! its not going to shift at 2k rpms like it normally would if you floor it, and if your on the highway and you need that little boost of speed to pass a truck or something just pop it into tiptronic mode, it will automatically downshift for you. considering mines a 2003 and you have the 2007 i could only imagine they have improved on these features. but be safe, you dont wanna have someone else's life on your concious...

Now in my G ive only been pulled over once and it was 2 weeks after i got her and only going 74/65 got off with a warning.
Blew up the Mustang II in like 10 days - it was a heap when I got it.
Got a brand new 750 Kawasaki (big bike back then) and racked up 36 points in less than a year. Lost my license three times in the first year.
Haven't had a ticket since 1982.
This thread is full of fail.
And OP - Tiptronic is a brand name associated with Porsche - you're not driving a Porsche are you?
Our autos have ASC with DS mode.

18 points in 24 months = 90 days. (I did 18 in less than a year)
24 points in 36 months = 1 year. (I also did this one in less than a year)
And I misquoted - it wasn't 36 points - I meant 24 points in 36 months.. Transposed things in my brain.
This was in FL in the early 80s. I don't know what the laws are now.
I once got three tickets in a four week period on the same stretch of road from the same state trooper... The same guy all three times. He was so pissed and I was like "whatever..."
I had to a waiver when I came into the military (several waivers actually) because of my police record. Nowadays I wouldn't even be able to join...
I was a really, really stupid kid. You couldn't tell me $hit back then either, so I totally get it.
LOL - just looked it up and it hasn't changed:

18 points accumulated in 18 months (including points from a 12 point suspension) will result in a 3-month suspension of your driving privilege.
