Our autos have ASC with DS mode.

everything
You guys might as well turn around and talk to the wall behind you.

Dont you remember how pig headed you all were when you were 16... 18.... even 21? I know I sure was. Luckily I had enough common sense not to wreck any of my vehicles, cant be said for todays kids, common sense isnt so common anymore.

Glad my parents taught me the meaning of money and didnt just "give" me a car when I started driving. This whole BS scenerio these days where kids "expect" a car when they turn 16 is ridiculous. Get a job, pay for your own car and then realize if you smash it up, its your money down the sh;tter

Back on topic... you have a 2 pedal car.... put it in D and drive, buy a manual if you want to shift. Not sure who all these guys are trying to impress by shifting their automatics...

Buying your kid a 280hp RWD car for their first car = Parenting failure

In manumatic? Every once in a while, especially if you take your foot off the gas after you shift but before third is engaged.

Certainly not our own egos, but I did impress the owner of a new M3(V8) after I walked him. Anymore stupid comments on a subject that has nothing to do with this thread.....

I agree, my parents first agreed to meet me halfway, then when i got there they laughed and said ima do it myself(i saw $500 as an impossible feat at the time) but i appreciate it now today!

Impress? haha no1 is gunna be seeing me shift... i mean who would be looking? my wife already knows i can drive a stick(no pun intended) lol but after totaling my 6MT Z, i made the god awful mistake of buying a 5AT G... i was desperate for a car at the time, and i made rushed decision(lesson learned). manual mode lowers the regret of that decision a LITTLE... no, its not the same, at all. but its something :/

kinda have to disagree, it depends on the kids and the parents. sure, statistically new drivers are expected to get in a wreck(and a car w/ more hp wouldnt help that) but if you know your kid then you can make an educated decision. for instance, my little brother could be driving a lambo and he will not speed, hes the overly cautious type and drives under the speed limit. he is very attenative to his surroundings also. now am i saying hes a perfect driver? no, no1 is... but its all on the person, the OP could be in the same boat as my lil brother(although i doubt it due to the existence of this thread lol) and its also on the parents to know what their kid is like and also to see how their kid drives.

just my .02
