idle problems?

well i recently installed my HKS exhaust, custom Y pipe, and kinetix plenum and now all of a sudden i have an idling problem...usually my car will idle around 500-600 rpm and now its idling down near 200...the engine then starts bogging out and it almost sounds like the car is ready to stall..... any idea what the hell is wrong with my car??????

Re: idle problems?

Thats an air leak. Do not drive the car like that. More than likely, its an issue with your Kinetix Plenum not seating properly. The car will studder down, feel as if it stalls, then rev 200-400 rpms to kep alive, then repeat. Had the problem when I sheered a bolt off my crawford accelerating. Word of advise: Dont keep the kinetix, get an APS or Crawford to replace it. Kinetix are nothing but trouble IMO.

2003 Black 6MT
JWT/Z tube, UR pulley set, Crawford Headers, Cats and v5 Plenum, Injen SES, TS ECU Crawford tuned, JDM Pedals, JDM battery cover, G-tech RR.
More mods to come....stay tuned.

Re: idle problems?

well i just took the kinetix off today and resat it on the manifold....i tightend all the bolts down and when i started the car the problem just reoccured....i searched for air leaks with soapy water but could find nothing....i did hear a hissing type noise towards the front left corner, but it was hard to tell if it was a leak or a noise that was meant to be there...if nobody has any other ideas by next week, im just gunna put the stock one back on and see what happens....any ideas guys???
