Painted Carbon Fiber hood???
Hi, everyone.
I have the 06 G35 coupe with pearl white ( I think).
The hood was hit by small rocks on highway in the past couple years, and the paint is starting peeling off. I think it is time for me to get a carbon fiber hood.
But I like the color of my car, I want the car in white.
Anyone tried to paint a carbon fiber surface?? Will the paint stay long??
And since I barely push my car over 130mph, is hood pin a must for CFH??
Thank you for you opinions.

You can have the c/f hood painted no problem! In fact if you get one with vents it looks cool to have the vents painted gloss black and the remainder IP. It makes sense to secure the hood any way possible, they have newer/better devices other than the "old school" hood pins.

I'm on my Blackberry so I can't really search and show you (I'm lazy) but there are a few threads on this and people go with what they call a Ghost paint job as well many different options search for some threads
That sounds bada** would love to see some pics of that.
I guess some members don't listen to what you want....^....there's no issue painting your C/F hood IP. Nothing looks worse than having mismatched pannels on our G35s so they look like "Patch work Quilts!"
