No oil Light?!

my car had 1.5 quarts of oil in it.....ok 1.5 quarts, from a leak i assume, and i didnt have any oil light or warning???? why?

the oil light doesn't come on for low oil it only comes on when you lose oil pressure. so it won't come on until your oil gets low enough for your oil pump to suck air.
