Opinion: JDM or Metra + Ztube and K&N

Hey guys, been lurking on here but first post.

I've gone the clear corners and tint route and looking to add on a bit more.
I've got a 07 coupe with factory nav and thinking about replacing the stock HU for a DD.

Question is, should I go the JDM route or use the metra and use that extra money for a K&N air filter and z tube?

For those that have the metra, how does the silver match? Also, I was told the metra could be used with factory nav on a 2007 but I've also heard otherwise, truth?

you know we're gonna say JDM, but if cash flow is an issue do what ever works best.

Go with the JDM, its not even a question, in my opinion. The metra is cheap crap in comparison.

Since you have NAV (like me) you will have to cut 1/8" off the JDM kit (or metra if you pick that one) because it wont fit otherwise with NAV.

Sucks.

I would go JDM. I have the metra kit and dont really care for it. The buttons dont fit right, some stick out further than others and some are angled (one side of the button sticks out further than the other. For $180 I expected a little better quality. I even swapped out the controls and the new ones fit the same.
The silver is just plain silver and doesnt have an aluminum look. I have black interior so I painted mine black to match.

Looks like the JDM wins. I suppose it's better to do it now than to hate the metra later.

JDM all the way. I have the OEM Navigation, and I didn't have to trim it all (?) I have read that there are 2 different JDM consoles, one for non-Nav and one for Navigation. I don't believe the '03-'04 utilizes a different one though.
