Hey guys, new G owner here, i been following and reading the board for a while now, finally pulled the trigger. I picked up my 04 Ivory coupe AT yesterday, premium and wheel pkg. thats it. Took it to get tints right away and let me say this car is unreal, it seems i get an urge to drive it every minute, but im sure this is sumthin that will fade with time (i hope not). Crazy, car has been out 2 years and its still a head turner.

So far everything is excellent, great handling, unbelievable pickup. So far within the first 50 miles on the car i notice the brakes squeek a little when coming to a complete stop and i hear a fairly loud rattle (yes i read all about the rattles before i got it so i knew ahead of time heh) coming from somewhere near the sunroof or possibly near the rear window, only happened twice so far so i wasnt about to pinpoint it..

All in all great great great car, its gonna be fun!

pearledout04 - What car were you driving before your G, and for how long? I've noticed that some people think the car has great acceleration - as you stated - and some think it falls a bit short in that dept. especially in the lower RPM's. I think this has more to do with what car someone was driving prior to getting their G then it does with any objective difference in opinion about what constitutes good acceleration.

the car i drove b4 this was a 2000 acura 3.2TL, that frickin car handled like a boat, not exactly my preference, big upgrade with the G most def. lol..... so dudes, HUGE rattle coming from passenger side door area, obscenely loud and rather annoying lol, seat belt? somethin inside the door?

 

Most likely cause of passenger door area rattle is
1) seat belt slapping against B-pillar. I stuck a chunk of foam (I work in a hospital where I can get orthopedic stuff) on the door pillar to fix this. Or, you can just clip the belt with no one in the seat.
2) Seat back tilt lever can make a higher pitched rattle over certain bumps. You can provoke this by tapping on the lever from the side. If that's the sound, you've found it. Clipping the belt, again, fixes this by holding the lever in towards the seat bottom frame..

 

oh and sumthin else i wanted to share when i picked up the G, the salesman was doing his routine showing me the features inside the car, so we get to the VDC button, the salesman is like ok press the button, you see it says VDC Off, then he says you NEVER EVER want to see it say VDC Off, meanwhile im playing along like ok gotcha.... thats weird how they really want to make sure VDC is always on, but we all know the deal why they do that

 

Has anyone noticed that a lot of g35 owners have had a honda or acura in the past or were deciding on getting one, but bought a g35 instead. Just something to think about :P

My last car was a 2001 Honda S2000. I love that car, but just got tired of the lack of space for daily commute.
I love my 6mt Coupe but I do miss the "on rails" type handling of the S2000. My goal is to get the G to feel like the S around corners....

 

i have an '01 acura integra type r and i've had it since i was 16. it was/is my first car, but i have an '05 ip/stone fully loaded 6mt on order and im just waiting for that to get in. i love my car and ive raced g35's and im kinda disappointed but im not really worried about performance cause its just an awesome car all around. i cant wait to get my g35, but i have to say im gonna miss my car. for a 25k car, it handles/performs great. and mods are fairly inexpensive. the only gripes i have about my car are that the speakers suck(as with all integra's) and the lack of luxuries...

And I was driving an Acura Legend before this :-)

I had a 96 accord coupe since i was 16, was gonna buy a new one, but i had to have it shipped from the factory because of the color/options i wanted. It would have taken three months to get, after about a month into it, i said f@ck that car and it was the best decision i ever made. I love my g35
