Infiniti badging

Hi Team. Apologies if there's a thread on this that I haven't located but...

I'm in Australia and have a 2005 Series 2 Skyline 350GT Coupe. As many of you know, that's the Infiniti G35 in the U.S. I'd like to change the badging to reflect the G35. So, I'm after the Infinity logo to clip into the front grill (replacing my Nissan logo), and the 'INFINITI', G35 and logo to stick onto the rear boot lid.

Can anyone advise me where I can pick these up in the marketplace and have them shipped over here? I've had a quick scan, but to be honest I'm not clear who I should steer clear of. I already purchased kit from B2autodesign (strut brace and Takeda intake kit), but they can't help with this.

Thanks for any advice offered.

I would assume any Dealers on the site would be glad to help you. There are quite a few, I'd just check the Vendor Section of the marketplace. There are quite a few dealers in there.

I really don't see the point to going to a Nissan anyways. Most people don't know that Nissan and Infiniti are brothers anyways. And Infiniti symbols look cleaner. Same with converting it into a skyline, most people would just call you a ricer. I would all be vice versa over there though.

I understand where you are coming from - this is the 3rd Skyline I've owned and always had a lot of respect for the brand. My reasoning is sound though. In Australia, since the early 90's all Skylines have been imports and therefore a specialist market. Resale is generally poor as most people don't know the brand anymore and are concerned about parts, insurance etc.

However, Nissan have just announced that they will be bringing the Infinity brand to Australia mid-to-end 2012, and they will be competing directly against the BMWs, Mercs etc. Estimated price is AUS$80K-100K. Now if I re-brand my 2005 Skyline as Infinity, and have it on the market for ~$30K, you've gotta think there'd be some interest...

Otherwise, looked on the vendor marketplace with no real luck (unless I want IPL). Also EBay is limited to 2nd-hand badging (no doubt from people who have already removed the letters to get the 'nude' look).

Cheers guys.

I'm not knocking it, just saying this is a first... if I lived in Australia I'd probably do it too lol

I think people would be little sketchy buying a car that doesn't look like the rest that are coming out there in 2012. But hey, if it doesn't sell, you can always rebadge back. And yes, it's "Infiniti" and not Infinity, just some FYI if you are putting it on eBay or something like that.

I have all my badges and lettering saved but it'd be expensive to ship to AUS. If you do the conversion I hope you follow through. Meaning the clock, seat stitching, battery cover, steering wheel cover, etc. LHD conversion would complete it but that is $$$

Thanks, and yes - I know it's 'Infiniti' (check my original post). I was just typing fast with my brain switched off... [edit: just checked - I used both spellings - oops!]

It's the brand recognition I believe will improve my resale opportunity. The smart buyer will hopefully be tempted to look at the car and fit-out to see it's similar, albeit older but ~$50K cheaper. Having said that, it's future protection. I don't intend to sell anytime soon - having too much fun currently!

Ive been in Australia for 3 months and Ive only ever seen 1 coupe and 1 sedan v35. r32s, r33s, r34s are everywhere. i mean EVERYWHERE. think if you replaced every Honda civic you saw on the street with a skyline or supra. if they are bringing infiniti to Australia, its a smart idea to re brand your v35, cause infiniti is supposed to be a luxury brand, its good to differentiate from the tuner scene here.

Probably most are R33s, as that is the $ sweet-spot for most new drivers. A lot of car to buy if you've just got your licence though! It also depends on where you are, but the V35s are still the rarest. Don't think we'll see many decent examples hit the country as imports for a while though due to the tsumani.

Gary and others - thanks for your response. I'll try trawling the marketplace again.
