Interesting... Thanks for the info, I may have to try out a pair. Here's what I was referring to with my questions, and what I purchased for my trunk light... I had planned on using one of these but figured they wouldn't be bright enough.

Guys your not gonna get much light output or even enough to fill the whole clearance strip with premade led bulbs . We however do LED retrofits on them which are bright even in daytime like audi drl's .

You could always try it out and put it in your clearance strip and see how bright they are. My LEDs I bought were super bright, like they'd blind me when I look at them. But because the clearance strip is angled down and not straight path, it doesn't seem so unless its dark at night.

I have a 5500K 5 LED strip inside my sidemarkers. If it were as easy to do the headlights as it was the sidemarkers I'd do the same thing to the clearance strip, but I'm too much of a chicken to try opening up my headlights.

Are they forward facing, or are the LEDs symmetrical on all sides. High Intensity or no? Perhaps a link to where you bought them would be best to answer all my questions.
Any blue lights(especially in the front) can get you pulled over. It is not only an illegal color, you could also be interpreted as impersonating a police officer. I've even heard of people being stopped AND ticketed for having a blue bug shield on the front of their car. The oncoming car headlights would light up the shield and make it look like blue lights in the front. It sure looks cool, but just be aware you 'may' get stopped by a not-so-happy copper, or someone may report you via 911 as impersonating a police officer. That would likely be a felony stop(guns drawn), which I would want no part of.

Unless you live in area where the average IQ was 12, no idiot would mistake blue clearance strip for police. If you are more than 5 feet away from the strip (and have the headlights on), you can't even see the blue. And lol @ guns drawn over it.
COME OUT WITH YOUR BLUE CLEARANCE STRIP UP OR I WILL SHOOT YOU!
