Problem with driver side door locking (and unlocking)

I'm going to start this off by saying yes, I did use the search feature and no, I didn't come across anything like this

I've noticed a couple weird things about my driver side door... not sure if it happens on the passenger side because frankly I don't use that door myself very often.

The other night I ran inside a store and locked my doors. Coming back outside I forgot I had locked my doors and went to pull the handle. The door opened and my car alarm went off... this isn't the first time this has happened. It bothers me that even though I've locked my car, the door still opens, regardless of if the alarm goes off or not.

Today I locked my car and tried to open the door and again, it opened, but this time the alarm didn't go off. I shut the door and pressed lock again and this time it locked.

I've also had a couple instances where I've pushed "unlock" on my key fob and my driver door won't unlock... I have to manually unlock it. In these instances though, my passenger door unlocks.

So basically I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if you guys think it's a problem with my key fob or my driver side door? Thanks

The problem is with the locks not the fob... Mine is in the shop right now getting this problem fixed! Same EXACT problem with alarm and locks.

It's a common problem. Do a search for "door lock actuator", and you'll be enlightened.

Actuators and window motors are quite common.

Oh boy am i pleased to see this topic, i nearly wrote the EXACT same thing. I had some embarrassing moments when i first bought the car and drove it home where the alarm kept going off at gas stations haha.

Still haven't worked out the central locking/alarm 3 months later, seems to happen the same with me when passenger side door opens instead of drivers.

Do the $5 door lock fix. The dealership will charge you about $350 to do one actuator that will just go bad agaian

I did the $5 door fix on my car sunday morning, it took about 2 hrs to install them on both doors. I prepared my actuators and brackets the night before. It wasn't that hard.
