Yes... many many UOAs done on how Mobile 1 performs in our engines. my350z has a lengthy thread regarding this issue. Mobil 1 USED to be one of the best oils around.. before they lost a lawsuit with Castrol and ended up changing their formula to something cheaper that isn't full synthetic. That was several years ago though. It wasn't publicized much which is why most people still think Mobil 1 is a great full synthetic oil.

I spent too much time looking up info on this and I don't remember exactly where, but bobistheoilguy.com has a ton of info on Mobil 1

and also this thread on my350z

Castrol made in Germany is a true FULL synthetic oil. There aren't many full synthetic oils left out there. Castrol made in the USA are all group III oils which are a blend of synthetic not FULL.

I've heard that Royal Purple doesn't perform very well with our engines. Like the price you pay doesn't justify the performance that you get. I've seen a UOA of Royal Purple somewhere, but idkk.. you'd have to do some searchingggggg

It's no longer full synth. That's a ridiculous price to pay for ANY oil.

Run a used oil analysis when you have to change your oil again and you won't be saying the same thing haha.

you can get a kit from blackstonelaboratories for free. Then when you send it in they'll charge you like $20 for the results or so.

German Castrol 0w-30. It's pricey ($50-$60 per oil change with filter, unless you catch specials) but worth it 100% and more. Most other synthetics out there aren't full synthetic. GC is =)

Tires are completely subjective. There's no "best" tire.. Just depends on what you want and how much you're willing to spend... Search around for reviews to see what fits you. I personally use Nitto Invo but those are expensive compared to other decent ones, but I love Invo's for the performance and comfort and plus they look super cool =D

I did my oil change last week and used Castrol edge full synthetic 5w30. Its really good and the our engines love it. You can find it at Walmart, Autozone, or kragens and i know auto shops like kragens or Autozone usually have them on sale for a certain period of time, so call ahead to make sure and save a few bucks.

the thing that bothers me and other users is that sure theirs like a billion of these threads about oil for are gcoupes , sure it gets annoying for the members that have like 100000000 posts lol but theirs never a definitive answer . the members here who know our cars inside out should just have a thread where it clearly states the best oil 4 our cars ,for example amsoil ... and state that this other ____ specific oil is crap , it would b much easier for lots of people to just go buy the best oil stated in the thread with the best filter and so on , but its like no 1 knows , or people are just 2 lazy to post the right things .
just saying

^ people choose oils for all kinds of reasons. IMO, just get the german castrol and be done with it. It's the oil that has consistently shown favorable UOA results when used in the VQ. The others appear to be less favorable.

I've seen those videos where a dude tears the filters completely apart. IMO, the one that stood out as far as construction, quality, and features was the K&N.

As for filters, just don't get Fram. Lol.

+1 to K&N. HP-1010. A bit larger than the puny OEM filters.

Did you actually read this thread? Mobil 1 0W-40 is consistently recommended in it and the issue of the supposed formula change was specifically addressed. Resolute (the OP of the thread) also reiterated the findings in another thread on my350z just a week or two ago.

I didn't feel the need to mention it because the majority of the people that do use Mobil 1 DO NOT use 0W-40. Most people who do.. will be using 5W-30.

0W-40 is good though. Had a feeling someone would point that out lolol. And yes I read that entire thread and I went over some parts multiple times just to make sure I knew what to get.

Castrol gtx if you wanna stay dino. Castrol edge/german for synthetic.
Purolator oil filters, or K&N if you wanna spend some more bucks. The purolator filters were rated very good as far as filtration quality vs price.
