is ur car auto? flooring an auto will always get a laggy response. ull get better result but pushing the pedal half way and let it pick up for a sec then floor the rest of the way

its depends. while ur slamming the pedal and ur car lagging in response the dude with the 4 cyl was probably smarter and gradually pressed the pedal down to allow for his car to pick up speed

Throttle response has a lot to do with how well your G has been maintained along with your reaction time and ability to drive. The kind folks here at DRIVER will also tell you it's not brillant to be street racing or was that "Discussing street racing?" If you want to play that game next time be prepared....intake * spacer * hfc's * exhaust system and tune.

also go do a grounding kit and a shift kit. they both seem to do great things for the autos. the shift kit is supposed to be a PITA to install but most everyone claims it is worth it.

It's never been proven any where that grounding kits make any imporvements, although it seemed to imporve my AT shifts slightly. The Trans-Go shift kit and cooler are a great idea which I intend to do shortly!

The tc was likely a manual gear box and it is lighter as other said maybe modified? Like I said in the FI section I don't miss anything about being NA especially not have soccer moms in mini vans hand me my a$$ stop light to stop light

Torque goblin took your torque!

No but really...are you saying it felt faster in the past?
Hot weather with a/c on is noticeable slower, even a/c on at all feels slightly weaker.

Alot of people may disagree with this who have not tried the product. For half the cost and a ten minute install I recommend SprintBooster. I have had one on my 2003 AT couoe for four years and it works. SprintBooster comes with a 30 day guarantee and if you find it doesn't help unplug it and send it back. It plugs into the top of your gas pedal and then the cable to your ECU plugs into it. It removes the lag in throttle response. The Transgo valve body kit is the ultimate fix but it is costly and pretty much permanent. Once installed removing it would also be expensive. The new SprintBoosters come with a switch to turn it off...sporty mode...and full on mode. I have the older model that is full on all the time. I don't work for SprintBooster...I'm just a satisfied customer. Cost about $329.

If its auto put it in manual mode. If you floor it in auto then theres a "lag" as the gears downshift and then you feel the acceleration. If you use manual mode, downshift to the proper gear and then hit it. There'll be 0 lag and you'll get thrown back in your seat.
