this is my first post on driver.com. i have done some research on this topic but no luck so far. so here is my problem. i have a 2004 coupe 6mt only mod is pop charger. the vdc off light is always on. if i hit the vdc off/on button it doesn't turn it off. i have done the following steps. 1. check all fluids all good. 2. oil change. 3. spark plugs.. break pads are ok. any help much appreciated.

 

Try and get the code pulled by any auto repair store. Should help determine or pinpoint the problem.

^ I believe the OP is talking about the VDC light not the SES light (OP correct me if im wrong). I dont think you can pull codes from the VDC.

1. Are there any other lights, like the SES light, on?

2. Are you running stock tire sizes? Typically if you increase the overall diameter of the wheel to much from the stock size you can run into issues with the VDC.

3. Has it always been this way or just recently occurred? If it is a newly purchased used car its possible, although probably unlikely, the previous owner disabled the VDC through the yaw sensor under the center console. I would check this as a last resort though. Check out this thread Turning off/disabling VDC (For real.)

1. correct the VDC light is on no other light is on.
2. they are slightly larger tires i believe not much larger. 245 all around
3. it has always been this way recently purchased used car. i am going back to the previous owner today to see if there are any reasons why this light is on. OK ill check that out.
