If I lower my car, do I need a camber kit?

I'm planning on lowering my G coupe an inch with the eibach pro-kit springs. Do I need to adjust the camber with a camber kit? If so, which one should I get? Any advice would be appreciated.

It can't hurt to get one, but with that small of a drop you don't have to...

Agreed^^^^

That is not much of a drop (1") but, anything lower will require some type of camber correction unless you want to purchase various sets of tires a year.

Only way to find out is to get an alignment after you drop. Every car is different.

That's funny because there was a thread in here about a month ago or so where everyone seemed to agree that even a 1 inch drop would require a camber kit in order to avoid premature tire wear.

^I needed one when I was lowered about an inch, yet some people say they didn't need them. The experiences vary too much which is why I fully agree with what fullvietFX recommended.

He nailed it....^....install the springs, wait at least a week for them to settle then get an alignment (not Firestone/PepBoys or Sears) and when they're finished ask the tech if you're close to OE specs....very close. If not get the SPL camber/toe bolts here on DRIVER under MARKETPLACE vendor suspension.

I dropped about an inch or an inch and a half. Running negative 2.8 all around. I don't drive often though so my tires have been good for over a year. It depends on how often and how hard you drive your car

Like someone said it wont hurt to have a rear camber kit. I would get one installed. I sure don't like buying tires all the time.. so it's best to get one

No matter the drop on the car a rear kit is necessary. Springs are cheap and the rear kit is cheap, no sense letting the car settle incorrectly. uneven wear on every single part of the rear not just tires.

there is no hard line drawn on this argument ive looked for over a month and came up with more contridicting information than good information. it just depends on how proper you are looking to do things. there is always a cheaper way but never a way that is perfect.

Wrong....^....the perfect way to modd your suspension after adding springs/coil overs is to install the front/rear camber/toe kit. There is no cheaper way because quality tires cost way more than the camber kit. If your suspension is not to OE specs when you have your alignment done you need the kit to bring it back.

gary c: im sorry bud but you are also very very wrong. where is your upgraded sways? how bout bushings? maybe braces? oh and what about plates? offset specs? wheels? tires? tourque specs for bolts?

oh and for ~$350 you can lower the g and be in spec. so im thinking thats actually the cheap way

as far as perfect goes - there plethora of parts that are available on the internet make this task IMPOSSIBLE.

you have a very long signature there ... how much do you really know about all those parts?

There is no Perfect way to modify your suspension. read up, figure out what works for you and your car. everyone drives differently and not everyone tracks their car. you can go as crazy as you want or as quick as springs only. The g35 responds well to anything, but in my honest opinion the rear camber kit is worth the money even if you dont drop the car.

$150 for a fully adjustable rear camber kit with toe bolts is nothing.

There is no cheaper way because quality tires cost way more than the camber kit ......
advan neova ad08 $230 per tire.... $920

stillen camber front - $919.80
stillen camber rear - $408
stillen toe arms rear - $418
TOTAL = $1745

(There are tons of cheaper camber kits out there but there are also more in this price range and even some that are higher priced)
{I am not in any way saying these are the parts to buy just using them as an example}
