My friends 06 G35 sedan is having a weird issue, the car starts then shuts off right away. After searching it looks like it could be an issue with the MAF and/or Throttle Body. She was told that it was a fuel pump issue by a friend. What do you guys think?

The fuel pump may be out. If it's the MAF or Throttle Body it usually stays on but when you hit the gas pedal nothing happens.

There should also be a check engine light on, if there is, have them get it checked out and see what the codes are and go from there.

When you key on do you hear the fuel pump prime? The sould will be coming from the passenger back seat.

Ok so she had her car towed to my house, so the car starts and rpm's will go up if you press on the accelerator but dies when you take it off

Issue resolved! The MAF and Throttle Body needed a good cleaning, running better than ever! I'm going to do the same to my car!
