I think it's normal. I've driven a few G35's and all of them have acceleration lag.

The G37 sedan is even worst. You step on it, nothing. then later, bam it takes off. It's was a whack ride but I eventually got use to the lag after a week of driving it.

He had me by a car and a half EACH time. Not just that my NA 3000gt is right next to my G when i raced them. And my 3000gt has 193k miles lol 5 speed.

Try switching gas every time you fill up but always use premium.

I'm using shell now and I notice a difference. Could be all in the head. I said the same thing 2 months ago when I pumped in Chevron.

I switch back and forth here and there.

I forgot what it was but our cars won't allow full throttle when you floor it. You have to give it a little gas first and then floor it. An UpRev tune will get rid of this.

mine felt sluggish under hard accelleration last week. A couple days later I lost a camshaft position sensor and it died on me, ran poorly, hard starts. When I fixed that by replacing it, the sluggishness was gone. Maybe something is starting to fail and you are just going to have to wait for a while until it gets worse and you can find out what it is?

OP, idk but if ur in second and rolling in the 1-3k rpm range and floor its jus naturally sluggish i thought. but in the higher rpm range it should really kick in. is it not doing that?

It's definitely abnormal... I've had this car since 2006, and it's just now recently acting retarded. I changed the oil since the original post here, but it's still doing it. I have no idea what it could be. Here are my guesses:

1.) Winter tires are still on it, they weigh alot, but, meh.
2.) It hates me.
3.) Clutch is going out?
4.) Something else fluid wise needs changed?
5.) *cries*

So yeah, I basically don't know what's wrong. I was hoping someone here had this noticeable issue and found the fix for it.
---
Also, even when I'm in like, 2nd gear at 3.5/4k RPMs, then I floor it, it's like... "UUUuuuuuuughhhhhh, okay, I'll go." (but before, when I did that, it would take off like a bat out of hell.)

its probably either fuel or ignition. I had a similar problem when i bought ebay spark plugs, which caused a bunch of misfires and the ecu prevent the throttle body from opening up all the way which caused sluggish performance.

I got oem spark plugs and the mis fires went away and i got my acceleration back.

I would replace your spark plugs with oem, also use 91 or 93 oct gas. The throttle body will keep from opening all the way if the ecu thinks you'll have detonation from not enough fuel or misfires to protect the engine.

The other thing, is it might be a bad fuel injector. If the ecu thinks its not going to get enough fuel to hit higher rpms, it'll prevent the throttle body from opening all the way to prevent detonation as well.

But the fastest way to find out, is take it to a shop with the nissan computer or a obdii reader and pull the codes. That's going to take all the guessing work out and just tell you what the problem is.

All other suggestions are just educated guesses.

With no check engine light, the first thing I did was clean my MAF. no good. I then bit the bullet and got the tuner version of uprev. found out my car (and nearly all second gen cars) run maaaaaad rich. I leaned out the AFR's and all is good.

I have a second gen HR sedan with test pipes and all the other bits
