DIY Request to remove shift plate in 05.
Hey I just got my niftyshifty boot from Locksmith and want to take off my shift plate... any recommendations?

shift plate.. like the piece of trim with the leather connecting to the shifter ? pull up evenly from behind the shifter with a screwdriver or something like that and it pops right off

I disassembled my center console and separated the top shifter assembly from the car... to install the nifty shifty boot am i trying to just take the leather out or the whole top plate (has p, r, n, d etc)
