Did the price of cars go up in the past two years?

I ask because in 06 i got my 2003 dg 6mt flawless with only 15k for 21.9 no haggle that was the internet price and dealer could no budge a dollar on price. I managed to get more for my trade and like 1000 dollars in gas cards.

I think i could get 15000 for my car as is with mods ( m6 20's, tein s, hks exhaust, cross drilled rotors, 4 new hub assemblys, etc). My car does not really look modded heavy. I get asked all the time if i will sell it but since i replaced engine, trans, clutch, flywheel i don't want to give it up as somebody would be getting a really good deal.

Whats worse i have been watching g37 prices along with some other cars and it feels like there are less cars for sale and people are listing higher. Are infintis just holding there value really well.

There was an article on MSN or Edmunds a few weeks ago saying that the tsunami and recession has driven the cost of used cars up. They stated that many used cars are selling for $1,000 to $2,000 over their Blue Book value.

Also mods do not help your resale value.

I know but plan on selling it to some young teen as his first car that wants them. I wont part this car out, it will either sell someday or i drive this car till it can't go anymore.

Used cars are certainly higher than they have been in the past. The terrible economy and gas prices are contributing factors.

No, but the Federal Reserve printed about a trillion dollars which made the dollar worth nothing. So it seems like cars have gotten more expensive, but in actuality everything is more expensive.

Dont forget that the demand for used cars is higher since people cant afford new ones... simply supply and demand
