Bose Headunit Issue

I haven't been able to find much about this topic, but i have noticed that few other members have had same issue with the sound not coming from driver's side speakers when playing CDs, but working just fine when the radio is on...

My question is if anyone has attempted to fix this without taking the car to the dealer?

My guess would be that its a wiring issue and i was just wondering if anyone has ever fixed this?
Thank you!

Same problem here. I usually just smack the side of the head unit. Only solution I know of is to get a new cd player or do a double din 7" screen.

I have the same problem from time to time... I want to say that means that the amp is on its way or is it the headunit? Anybody heard similar?

I have the same issue on my 04. I took it to an audio shop that I friend of mine referred me to and he said it could be the fuse?? He said he would have to spend 2.5 hours to take it apart and will charge me $45 for it. I plan to take it in some time in the future.

A fuse....

Sorry, but unless you have an odd system that has the speakers fused, that's not your issue.

I would have to agree that it's wiring, the headunit is starting to go or the amp is flaking out... ( or any combination or variation of the list ).

^I am thinking about it, i like the convenience of having 6 cds available right away, but double din and an ipod outlet also sound very very tempting. And it gets very annoying to have them go on and off..

I am actually convinced it is wiring...idk about the fuse part. I am not that mechanically inclined, but i am planning on taking a stab at it this weekend. If i ruin it i have an excuse to go with double din!

Yeah its second nature for me now. Passengers always say "dude wtf are u doing " I say "dont worry about it "

I guess passengers dont notice the driver side going out, but is extremely noticeable to us of course.

I have noticed the same thing, passengers do not notice the issue, so when I get frustrated, the passenger looks at me all confused lol..
