So I just got my 07 G35 a month or two ago, and this is the first problem i'm feeling.

When I let out the clutch (it's the worst in first gear) it won't move in a fluid motion. It's very creaky, can be kind of slow, and the best way to describe it is that it just feels dry. It was even slipping a bit in first (this is my first MT car, so I'm not exactly down with the lingo, hope you guys get what I'm talking about). It wasn't a problem when i first got it, then one day it happened and has been seeming to get worse with time

Any idea what this could be? I'm no mechanic, but from what I've read, changing the clutch fluid could solve the problem?

 

Changing fluid might help.
When u bought the car was there a service history on it?
Does the clutch pedal stick at all or is there any clicking noise when releasing the pedal?

 

There was service history. The clutch has been replaced if that's what you're wondering

No clicking or sticking that I have noticed

Really hoping this isn't a serious problem....

Next step would be to check the quality of the clutch fluid.

Well dang, I'm going to change it tomorrow and i'll let y'all know how it goes. My first work on the G, I feel like a real owner now

I had similar issues and flushing the fluid helped alot with the feel and engagement of the clutch.

my clutch fluid wasn't as dark as yours when i changed, and i felt a difference as far as "smoothness".
So hopefully changing the fluid will fix your problem

 

What if you do hear a clicking sound once in a while and it sticks? Will changing the clutch fluid resolve this too? I changed it last year but I think I have to do it again.

 

changed the clutch fluid today. Feeling MUCH better

 

Nice! Mine looks very similar to that, not as dark but probably close.

Its a 2007 and the clutch has already been replaced once? Holy moly the old driver must of been a maniac.

 

The Nissan manual trannys are notchy to begin with. Not the SMOOTHEST transmission in the world.
