Rev-up and Non Rev-up

I've seen on several occasions people referring to rev up and non rev up engines. I have an 04, which I know doesn't have a limiter, but is this what they are referring to? If so, what do I have?

03-04 = nonrevup, 280hp 270 lb-ft
05-07 5AT = nonrevup, 280, 270
05-07 6MT = revup 298, 260

you have nonrevup

I think orange stitching just comes on the sports package, because I'm a 5AT and I have the orange stitch steering wheel.

The 2005 G35 6MT (REV-UP) model with close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission receives an additional horsepower increase, bringing it to 298 horsepower (torque remains at 260 lb-ft).

NO. The rev light blinks once you hit the rev limit. The 5AT's / non rev up also have this light.

Orange stitching means Sport Package and which can be equipped with either engine.

I'm pretty sure only the manuals have the "REV" light.

Yeah that makes sense... Why they would put a light that tells you to shift in an AT is beyond me...

I have a non rev up and I don't have a shift light, even though mine doesn't have a limiter shouldn't it still have a shift light?

Yeah, that light is always on. Once you hit the rev limit, that light or another light below it flashes. Don't remember. To lazy to check.

Given the differences between the non rev and rev motors. Can you take parts from the uprev and put them on the non rev to get the same benefits such as the lower intake plenum. Can the vvt features be added in any way?
