Beginning to rethink my recent purchase of my G35
maintenance wise, these cars are not bad at all. A lot of people join these forums only for when they have a problem. Now, if everyone that had a positive experience joined this forum, it would be flooded with good news everyday
You're looking at the door jam sticker right? I always go 1 more than the sticker says just for good measure, so 31. Remember this is measured when cold... like first thing in the morning.
I agree. ALL cars are going to have some problems. The tire cupping or feathering problem was something I had when I bought my used G. It ended up being poor alignment on cheap tires. I put new ones on and haven't had the problem since.
Don't sweat it. Real good car. Had mine 2 years with ZERO issues. '06 sedan 5AT. Tire cupping issues show up more for those that lower the car and oversize the wheels. Suspension geometry isn't adjustable on the front unless you swap out the upper control arms. So it can get some bad camber and toe-in issues. If you leave the suspension and wheel size stock, tire wear should be typical of any car with similar suspension setups. Enjoy your new car.
i am also a new owner of a used G35 coupe.. 04 6mt.. only thing i really regret about buying this car is that it's slow, heavy, and gas mileage sucks *****..
other than that, i still like driving it and i think its a great looking car...
i dont have much of an oil consumption problem, but it seems every 2k or so my car eats half a quart of oil..

the only upgrades ive done to my car are aesthetic (i think i spelled it right..) ones. like tint, audio, led changes. the car is completely stock and its a 2004 with 84k, it still runs great. i love it.
