My 04 Auto just turned 70K....had it in today for an oil change.
Front tires are cupped, but they did tell me my front alignment was off. I will just wait until I install new rubber, then have it done.

The 03-04 autos were notorious for eating up rotors and pads...I think I'm on my third set of rotors and pads for the front, and my second set on the rears.

I always make a point of doing the regular big maintenance...all fluids/coolants/belts etc.

Other than a few recalls, I have had no problems with my car. Any problems were corrected while under the factory warranty period(s). Still on the original battery. almost 8 years of ownership, and I still love the look and feel of the car.

To this day, when I walk away, I always have to turn around and glance at my baby!

You need new bushings at that mileage. An alignment won't get you back into spec if you haven't replace the transverse link/comp rod bushings yets.

You can get all the parts for 100, and if you DIY a shop can press for 20-60 bucks.

I have 190,000KMs on my car, which I bought brand new in 2005.

I've had the following problems.

1. Bose head-unit broke twice (bought a new one twice)
2. Valve cover gaskets leaking (makes a burnt smell and smokes up the engine bay)
3. Truck won't open (a wire was too short and got ripped by itself somehow)
4. Tires cup on the inside prematurely (bought a camber kit)

Other than that I'm loving the car.

I don't see a problem with your post.

If you go onto ANY car-specific board, you are going to see the same things you saw here - Lexus, BMW, Honda, Subaru, or domestic. All cars have their own idiosyncrasies that owners may or may not have to deal with. It's always easier when you know what to be on the look out for, and what solutions there are to the problem(s).

If the car still has low mileage on it and you have good luck with it, then you can always purchase an extended warranty later on.

If your wife's going to drive it, then I think you have a good plan with no mods.
Regular maintenance is a must with any car.

No need to worry. With proper maintenance your car will be fine.
