This is just what i would do off the top of my head...
1. get in the trunk
2. pull off the lining of the trunk door(i forget what kinda clips hold it on but its easy
3. get a pliers and pull the release
4. with the trunk up it should be easier to find where the line snapped
5. fasten them together with a crimp style connector(obviously something that will bend when you take a pliers to it) what im thinking of is copper and looks similar to this.
if you need extra line(due to frayed or an unfixable line)
6. buy a brake line or door lock line or something
and just crimp this in to fill the gap.
GL, hope this works for ya!!

Meh..... now that i re-read you first post, scratch that... FIRST, I would check the fuse box lol if NOTHING is opening your trunk that may be it(but considering your emergency release latch is mechanical, something may be jammed where your trunk closes. idk how short/flexible you are but you may need to lay down and push up w/ your knees on the trunk door when you are pulling your broken line w/ the pliers(if you go that route).
where the infant is the trunk door(sorry, this is all i could get offa google :P)
