My 300zx didn't have any cup holders lol. I had to take out the ash tray and stick my drink in there! LOL! I don't have any problems with my G's cupholders.

i dont have an issue at all with the cup holders by the shifter. seems to fit nearly everthing nice and snug. i removed the one in the arm rest tho. gives me more space to put other things there

I am new to this forum and apologize if I am placing it in the wrong section. I recently purchased a 2005 g35 coupe and within the first day I got the full experience of the underengineered cup holders. I have come up with a DIY fix for this that is rather simple and cheap but will take some time to complete. It is an insert that fits into the OEM cupholder and is cut from a plastic cutting board that I then painted black and clear coated. If anyone would like more info about this let me know.

Most German car makers have theirs pop out of the dash and then your drink drips down on your radio and controls. I'm thankful the G's at least get a drip pan

Im just glad to have cup holders. I never keep unsealed cups because they tip over. I had a monster one time and I turned a bend to find it spilled all over the place.

I wish the 6MTs had the same cup holders as the 5ATs. They look like they'd work better

I've resorted to the Underarmor bottles with the sip nozzle on the end. Makes me feel infantile but the thing fits tightly into the center console holders and won't spill even if its tipped over. Too many times have I slammed on the brakes and had a coffee/soda spill over the entire center console; results in an hour of cleaning and cursing everything in sight...

Truth. My audi had that and it drove me BAT **** CRAZY. ONE cup holder in the entire car and its directly above the radio/climate control. drink sweats all over the controls and display. not to mention its also right in front of the vents so if you have the heat on, your cold drink becomes hot, and if you have the AC on you hot drink becomes cold. although, the inverse of that worked nicely. heat kept my coffee warm in the winter and the AC kept my other drinks cold in the summer. still a terrible Idea overall.
