Clutch chatter update - advice needed

This is an update to the "chatter" problem I was having with the clutch. After reading several threads concerning the clutch problems, I accepted the chatter as part of life. Until I took the car in for it's 3750 mile service.

The service manager asked me "How's the car, any problems with it?", I replied "Well......" and proceeded to tell him about the annoying chatter.

As a result of their ivestigation...I now have a new clutch, flywheel, and tranny. While I appreciate them going beyond what I expected, I now have new issues with the clutch --> it still chatters (slightly, most apparent during shutdown), and now it shutters when engaging 1st gear. Before it was a shuttering "noise", now it slightly shakes the entire car. Since the clutch/flywheel/tranny swap is just a week old, I want to give it time to break in.

I will play with the clutch arm adjustment to see if it will eliminate/reduce the shuttering.

Any idea what could be causing the broblem since I had everything that could be related to the problem replaced? I don't really care too much about the chattering noise....but the shuttering is getting to me.

possibly the dealer didn't install it correctly? Ask him to give you back the extra bolts that were left over after the install

I have a friend that has had basically the same problem and he is on his 3rd Clutch! We are thinking something was misaligned from the factory.

He has a pending law suit against his dealership and Infiniti. If you like I can get you his email address and you guys can compare notes.

A law suit already? I thought the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act required 4 visits for the same problem?

Don't know the exact details, but he may be using the "Lemon Law" here in Georiga, which is 3 times, I think?

That could be. Now that I think about it, it may be the state that decides. I filed against GM and it required 4 documented visits for the same problem in a 6 month period.

It's the State that decides unless your State has no lemon law, or the lemon law is less restrictive than the Federal, in which case, you must file your claim in federal versus State court.
