Hello guys,
I have noticed that I always have a black sooth like dust all over my rear bumper + the back of my trunk.
This usually happens 2-3 days after cleaning my car.. I am kinda worried.. is it brake dust ? I dont use a foam spray for my tires but use a gel..might be it too ?
dont mind the nasty tips...
but look at this... getting worried... I am have an 05 5at so I guess its not oil burning. I checked my dip stick and it was ok...but ill check again. I am near 55 thou miles and will do a 60thou maintenance by end of the week.
Thanks !!

Do you have any other cars in your driveway, do they have the same black stuff.
Its dirt. Tire gloss stuff wont come off so easily and only happens on the sides of the tires.

Any explanation why it is only at the back bumper and the back of the trunk and no place else ?

most likely its from the exhaust. I have the same thing with test pipes and hks. I wash my car once a week.

i also have this problem.. i was thinking it's something from the exhaust, because the other 2 cars in my garage don't have this problem.

I have the HKS REP Exhaust + JWT POP Charger and thats it....
I do think it is coming from the exhaust but why ?
If the engine is burning correctly then this should not happen ?

What you guys think ?

My car gets that, but not as bad, so does my friends civic that is lowered. I always attributed it to the cars being low to the ground and all the city driving we do. I know most or all cars have a sort of whirlpool of air going on behind them when driving at highway speeds so that could also be it.

Actually yes, when air passes over your car, the air right after your trunk tumbles around and thats why the trunk gets dirty
See how the smoke lifts up as he drives away, look at 4sec you can see the air tumbling .

Exhaust and pretty normal on a G.
Its impossible to keep G's **** clean. My G is like a baby that craps itself constantly.

Those are great if you use them properly. Don't ever apply pressure and barely touch the fibers to the paint to lift off the dust.Originally Posted by NATH_19
