A bad engine bank?
I went to my mechanic and he say I have a bad engine bank. What does that mean? I thought the engine bank is where the cyclinders sit. Maybe im wrong. Not to sound stupid.
Only thing I've seen referenced as bank has been Oxygen sensors (ie: sensor 1 bank 1). Your mechanic should be more specific as to what the problem is.
Some gee-wiz info is that the Right Bank is Bank 1, and the Left is Bank 2. (Left is driver's side in this case.

a bank is a side of the engine so either the left three cylinders or the right three cylinders. a bad bank can mean that one side is running lean or rich. an engine light will show up if this is the case. they cant be completely bad as in not running at all because your car WILL NOT run on three cylinders alone. if there is no engine code showing up then he is most likely a retard.
What a helpful post. Maybe ask your mechanic what in the hell he is talking about? Maybe 02 sensors but who knows? I live in the south and it's hard to understand some mechanics lol
There is Bank 1 & there is Bank 2. The Passenger side is bank 1 (cyl 1, 3, 5) & the drivers side is bank 2 (cyl 2, 4, 6). Also if you did you get SES (service engine soon) light on the dash?
