'04 G35 will not run after Plenum Spacer install

I installed both the Motordyne Plenum Spacer and AEM CAI. This pretty much wen as expected. I had the battery disconnected for about 4-5 hours while working on it.

When I was I done, I went to start the car and it will not run. All dash lights come one and when the key is turned, the car starts right up. However, it dies within a second. I'm fairly certain it's an immobilizer issue as I've seen similar behavior on an Audi.

I tried the reset functions in the manual and I also disconnected the battery again and pumped the brakes to reset the ECU.

Anyone have any ideas?

did you plug the maf sensor back in? Most likly a bad maf & it has to do with the intake install not the spacer.

Double check all your connections (electrical).

If it was a security issue I think we have a dummy light for that.

Check the battery for charge, too.

Well I let it sit for 20 minutes or so while I was researching and when I went back out to try it again it started right up and stayed running. Very strange.

Took it for a ride as well and things sound totally different at 4.5K RPMs.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Hmm. My first guess would have been a vacuum leak. Glad it worked itself out.

I was thinking the same thing. Did you attach all the vacuum lines back to the plenum. Sometimes it will run and sometimes it wont but if it does run its going to run like crap.

Your plenum spacer has a small leak , your mafs is good this happened to me a while back and I realized that a small leak caused the car to shut off ,

You may think the car is running back to normal but it's not . The ecu is correcting what it senses is wrong ,changing your a/f ratio .

If you run a live diagnostic you will be able to see that the signals are off factory spec and the ecu is constantly adapting learning the idle ..

I corrected this by taking the plenum off again and reinstalling it as per the FSM tightening sequence. Used some carb cleaner to see if I still had a air leak , the cleaner will spike the idle if in the are sprayed there is a leak . If nothing happens then your idle is at 650 rpm and your good .

If there is a leak make sure that the rubber collar around the oil cap didn't get caught in the upper plenum reinstall.
This tends to happen a lot with installation of plenums.
