Just bought a 04 DG 56k miles Coupe
Pretty new here, i've been reading around for the past few months while i've been looking for a g35. I wanted a athens blue but ended up with the diamond graphite. i love it. it's a blast to drive.
I searched around for most of my answers.. but i'm kind of confused on some.
So i've got a few questions off the bat. First, the little side skirt thing is broken off on both sides, any idea where i can buy new ones? they're just 3M'd on.

Also, in VA we require front plates, but i'm not running one. so i have the ugly holes in my bumper, where can i get plugs? i can't seem to find any online.
I was reading about resetting the ECU so the car can learn my driving style (is this true / worth it?)
I also read about the cylinders having oil in them, i'm going to check the cylinders and probably replace the spark plugs while i'm in there. If there is oil, will the dealerships 30 days 1000 mile power train warranty cover the valve covers?
the passengers side window motor seems to be messed up too (didn't notice this until i was half way home -_-). but when i put the passenger window down, it goes all the way, but when i put it all the way back up, it automatically goes back down half way -_-. the only way to keep the window up is to hold the button up, then lock the window when it's up. when you open the door, it doesn't go down automatically, which worries me. so i want to try to fix this soon. is it something i can do myself?
also, first thing i'm doing is intake and tint, and a quad retrofit. the retrofit will be done by me. i've read a lot of threads about the intakes and it seems like there are mixed feelings. i'm leaning more towards the z tube with the K&N air filter over the injen cold air. the cold air worries me when it rains.. i don't want it getting wet being so low.. people also say that the injen gets you more performance.
i think that's all for now...

Unplug your negative terminal on the battery and hold the brake pedal down for 30 seconds. Come back an 1 hour later and plug it back in and drive the way you would normally drive for 100 miles. It will learn your grandma /aggressive driving habits and adjust.

Powertrain should cover the valve covers and check cylinder #6 and #3.

Either the window needs to be reset not sure???. I know coupe windows drop down a little when you open door or something weird. It could also be the window motor going bad aka DIRTY. I would find out root cause and try to see if dealer will repair that.

Props to you on doing your retrofit on your own. I did mine on my last 2 vehicles and will probably end up doing on down the road on the G. I would skip quad and stick with a S2000 projector and call it a day. put the rest of the time, $$$ and labor towards other things like diff fluid, tranny fluid, brakes, bushings, window motor, stereo and GAS.
REVUP INTAKE box from 2005-2007 manual G35 coupe or 2005-2006 manual G35 sedan. Apexi or K&N high flow filter along with Z-tube. Add mod for cold air intake if you wish to.

yeah i was planning on putting the S2ks in the low beams anyway, and put TLs in the fog / high beam, but i'm probably not going to do this. you're right. S2Ks are the way to go. how would i light up the entire clearance strip on the side of the lights?
so OEM z tube, or stillen z tube? what do you mean "mod for cold air intake?"
thanks for the awesome reply man. helps me a lot.
Thanks, could you link me to the OEM ones? Those look ok, but they seem kind of odd. maybe thats just me being **** though. where can i find the OEM paint?

i'm def going to do this this coming weekend. never done anything like this before. what spark plugs should i use?

how do you reset the window? yeah the window goes down slightly on the coupe. but since the motor seems screwed the window doesn't go down on the passenger, so i don't want to use that door till it's fixed, i don't know what it's rubbing.
Not sure do your research on the forum and probably need to clean out the motor or replace it but again SEARCH.

You will have to buy a clearence strip that has led modded in them or build one your self using led's or maybe SMD LED.

Either will work, I went with OEM Z tube since I got it for dirt cheap. If you want read my link on the intake advice and see how people routed cold air from the grill into the box.

thanks for all that. i'm in for some reading tonight.
I actually noticed something about my car tonight that is really worrying. the garage was closed and i took this picture quickly, but you should be able to see what i mean.

it looks like the owner reversed and pushed the drivers side exhaust in, making the passengers go outward and crooked. now i was going to get a stillen exhaust, or some sort of exhaust (still reading).. but i was going to do it last. Now that i've noticed this.. i may do it first.. what do you guys think?

I want to do that, but i thought the exact same thing. i don't want a unmatched line going across the door -_-
do you guys know where to get those weather strip things at the bottom of the door? they don't seem too important, and they're easy to take off. but i'd ilke to replace them. or will the water not come in?
Only way of lighting up the clearance strip all the way is putting an led strip. In order to do that, you'd have to open up your headlights. I put a 9-LED bulb in there instead, and it lights it up more than OEM, but still doesn't light it up all the way down full power.
Here's mine:

Thing is, if you do put a led strip (not bulb), then if it happens to burn out or one of the bulbs does, you'd have to open up your headlights all over again to change it.

Check the vendor section for it or buy a hid kit. I wouldn't rely on ebay for a h4 bulb as I bought a "5000k super white" one a while back and it came out yellow/dull like the oem one.
@ guy above: I believe thats advanced auto parts
I bought a 20 pack of those bumper plugs for my previous car and still have a few left. PM me your addy if you want and I'll ship you some. It sure beats the $30 ones you get specifically for a bumper.
You can get oem touch-up paint through infiniti. All you need to do is sand these plugs smooth, paint a coat, let it dry (repeat a few times), then use duplicolor clear coat to make it glossy (few coats as well).
