Pep Boys Service

Anybody familiar with the Pep Boys Service? I am interested in replacing my pads and rotors (failed state inspection apparently) and I talked to one of the customer service personnel there and he said that both the pads and rotors are OEM from Infiniti/Nissan. Is that true?

I am paying a decent amount 150+tax to change the pads... the rotors I may skip but haven't had a price check on it yet.

Just trying to find out if the price is fair as well if it is for OEM Inifiniti/Nissan.

Thanks all!

I believe if they do not have parts in stock they get them from the dealer, or some part supplier that might be "like" oem

You could also buy the pads/rotors your self and bring them in, though it probably will cost more since they are not going to bundle the parts.

If they do get the parts, make sure to look for a nissan part number, I am not sure how rotors/pads are packaged but, everything I have gotten that is OEM has nissan on it, on the bag or instructions..ect

PA inspection is way too strict.. lol

I wouldn't get parts from Pepboys, only oil and some cleaning supplies. order the parts from a vendor and you should have them before the end of the week.

You can do that yourself if you have the time and tools. It is very easy. There should be a DIY on how to do it. You can buy the oem pads for about $60

I'd DIY. My last pep boys experience was pretty awful.

PepBoys/Sears/Firestone/Goodyear....not my ride!

Seriously, is this a joke? Do you honestly believe that if you were a good mechanic you'd be working at PepBoys/Sears? I honestly wouldn't take my lawn mower to PepBoys/Sears! I've watched their mechanics work, "It's like watching a monkey f^ck a football!" No, if I can't fix an issue with SLICK she's going where only the best knowledgeable certified mechanics will see her....

lol +1 on this comment! Pep boys sucks! I work in nissan parts and we have had the pep boys down the road call over for a window motor and they ordered two actuators before they realized that it wasn't what they are looking for. A bunch of retards that i wouldn't trust with a potato cannon work there...

Haha Gary, good comment.

I decided to take it somewhere else prior to your comment made. These chicken nuggets quoted me 1400 to change my rotors and brakes. They then dropped it down to 400 and said they found a cheaper vendor? Are you serious? I just told them i'll take my business else where. Taking it to a shop called TiresPlus. I am not sure if they are any better than PepBoys but they seem to know what they are talking about. Paying 440 here, knowing I can get better parts and do it myself, but right now I just don't have time and the tools.

Thanks agian guys!
