Question about my exhaust and it hanging low...

I noticed this on my car a while ago, and it didn't really bother me at first but it is now...the left exhaust pipe is hanging a lot lower than the right.

Is this a common thing? I could've sworn I saw another G coupe with the exhaust hanging uneven like this before. Any way to fix it?

I have had the same problem with both my OEM stock tip hanging lower on the left side and the aftermarket exhaust tip did the same thing. Seems to be somewhat common, as I looked at the tips on several of our forum cars when we met last Friday night, 8 of the 10 had a slightly noticeably lower left tip.

Or buy a true dual exhaust with a canister on each side and never worry about sag again.
How would one fix the hanger? Do you mean to 'bend' it upwards or something else?

Check the hanger. It is more likely the rubber piece going out than anything bending with the metal bracket. I'm sure you could buy a replacement for them somewhere...

I figured it was a hanger, but I honestly don't know too much about actually going about fixing it lol.

I've entertained the fact of getting a new exhaust anyway, but i really don't want to change how the car sounds. plus, i doubt it'd be much of a performance gain, if at all.

Most exhausts reuse the rubber piece attaching from the exhaust to car, a new exhaust wouldn't solve your problem if it is the rubber piece causing the droop.

You should be able to buy that rubber peice at any auto store. They are relatively cheap and replacing it can be done by anyone, though it was a PITA for me. If you look under the car where the exhaust piping mounts to the car, you will see the rubber mounts everyone is talking about.

So any advice for replacing the hangers on the muffler? I am about to order some new OEM pieces and wonder if you have some advice on how to do it? I looked under the car and it's tight under there.

Taking the rear of the exhaust with the piece attached and then going at it while it is off is the easiest way imo. Depending on its condition it may put up a nice fight so be ready.

Easy fix, buy a OE rubber hanger from Nissan the next time you get an oil change swap em out. Might be a good idea to use a little WD40 to make the job easier....more slip/slide.

I just bought the four rear rubber bushing hangers, plus a new midpipe to muffler gasket.

I plan on fixing this minor issue in the next week or two, possibly with pics.

Thanks for the input Gary. I am hoping I can somehow just undo the top part of the two rear upper hangers after unbolting the muffler. I only have jackstands so it should be really fun.
